Japanese gold-decorated screens auctioned for $266,500

A pair of early 17th century Japanese screens decorated with gold have been sold for $266,500 (£163,533) at a New York auction.
The screens were offered for sale at the Christie’s Arts of the Samurai auction at Rockefeller Plaza last Friday (October 23rd) and represented the second top-selling lot of the event.
