A rare coin expert launched a charity drive by placing a gold coin into a Salvation Army Red Kettle during a meeting for Bell Ringers.
Orange County's Record Live reports how Michael Fuljenz donated a one-ounce American Eagle valued at $1,400 (£900) to the cause.
