Vale awards $32m Moatize automation contract to ABB

Power and automation technology group ABB has been awarded a $32-million contract from Brazilian diversified miner Vale’s operations in Mozambique for complete electrification and automation solutions to increase productivity, monitor energy use, and decrease energy consumption at a new coal mine.
“ABB’s vast industry experience, combined with our comprehensive automation and power offerings, provide our customers with the robust solutions they need for these large scope projects,” said head of ABB’s process automation division, Veli-Matti Reinikkala.
