What’s New on CoinLink ……..

On January 9th, 2010, George Frederick Kolbe/Fine Numismatic Books will offer for sale at public auction The Stack Family Library, a remarkable numismatic library carefully assembled over seven decades by the New York numismatic firm founded by brothers Morton and Joseph and ably carried on by Norman, Benjamin, Harvey, Susan, and Lawrence Stack.

During the last year Doug Winter been working on a series of articles that discusses the ten rarest individual issues in each of the Liberty Head denominations. This installment covers The Ten Rarest Gold Dollars.

Heritage will be offering The Louis Bassano Collection of U.S. Commemoratives as a part of the 2009 August Los Angeles, CA US Coin Auction, taking place July 30-August 1. Every one of the nearly 150 beautiful coins in this collection grades MS66 or higher. Senator Bassano was one of the most important and beloved figures in New Jersey politics.

NGC Ancients Grades Armenian Rarity – A box of “old coins” purchased for $28.25 at an estate sale near Burlington, VT held an unexpected surprise: its contents are estimated to be worth more than $15,000 because it included one of the most important Armenian coins in existence. The prize coin was an Armenian bronze follis of “Kiurike the Kouropalates” identified by NGC Ancients
